PGY-1 Applications

We accept applications via ERAS and will participate in the NRMP. Please register with the NRMP and apply to us through ERAS. You will find information about the application process below and information about our program in the Residency Overview on this website. The handout, Student Guide to Securing a Residency prepared for our own students applying to otolaryngology, is on our website and may be helpful as well.

Application Requirements via ERAS:

  • Common Application Form
  • Personal Statement
  • Medical School Transcript
  • MSPE/Dean’s Letter
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
    • At least two should be from otolaryngologists
    • You may send a fourth letter if you wish
  • Photograph
  • USMLE transcripts (if applicable)
  • COMLEX transcripts (if applicable)
  • ECFMG Status Report (international medical graduates only)

Application Deadline:

The final deadline is November 1, 2007, but we will consider applications as they arrive so we encourage you to send them in as early as you are able.

Communication:

We are happy to talk to you by phone or correspond with you by mail as needed, but the preferred method for routine communication will be by e-mail. Therefore, please keep us updated regarding your e-mail address.

Interview Invitations:

Interview invitations will be offered via e-mail with follow-up printed documentation as needed. You will be invited to visit on one of several dates. There will be slots for all applicants invited to interview, but specific dates will be available on a first come first served basis so an early response is beneficial. If you must cancel your interview, we request that you give as much notice as possible to allow other deserving students the opportunity to interview.

Residency Interview Dates:

Our three interview dates for the 2008 NRMP match will be announced in early fall.
