| The focus of Dr. Carron's research is newborn hearing screening and postoperative therapies for tonsillectomy and tympanostomy tube placement. |

| Dr. Carron is active in many major specialty societies, such as the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, American Academy of Pediatrics - Section on Otolaryngology, American Cleft Palate - Craniofacial Association, Society of University Otolaryngologists and the Mississippi Society of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He was instrumental in establishing the first cochlear implant program at UMC and has successfully implanted over 40 children and adults since its inception. |
